Katie has extensive experience in planning and overseeing continuing medical education programs.
She has developed and implemented educational programs for such clients as Takeda, Amylin, Novo Nordisk, Sanofi-Aventis, and GlaxoSmithKline.
Katie has coordinated satellite symposia, investigational meetings, faculty advisory boards, and patient education programs.
She has extensive knowledge of the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education Guidelines and has strong ties with university and health institution continuing medical education programs.

With backgrounds in design and advertising, Suzanne's creative expertise is diverse, from advanced technology systems to patient education brochures.
She has won several local and national awards for her design, including "Dimensions of Depression" for Pharmacia & Upjohn which won the ACME award for "Most Outstanding Industry-Sponsored Certified CME Activity."
Her experience spans numerous disease and therapeutic categories, such as diabetes, neurology, and oncology.
Suzanne uses her considerable expertise to achieve the correct balance between medical education requirements and client and sponsor needs, while creating truly innovative designs.

SUSAN PICARD
Account Manager
Susan's 20 years of experience encompasses a wide range of advertising, marketing, and medical education in myriad positions, including account service and production management.
Susan has been integral in the planning and implementation of campaigns and programs, including launches for Genzyme's Renagel, SkinMedica's EpiQuin Micro, and Gilead Sciences' Truvada and Emtriva, whose product sales exceeded expectations.
Susan's experience with project budgeting and reconciliation ensures cost-effective as well as highly successful outcomes.
Her continuing personal pursuit of education has led to certifications in both copyediting through UCSD Extended Studies and fitness through the American Council on Exercise.

OLIVIA FERRELL, CMP
Director, Meeting Services
Olivia has extensive management experience within the hotel industry on both the East and West coasts.
She has coordinated major corporate, educational, government, and military conferences and conventions.
She has also managed the successful execution of researcher forums, satellite video conferences, business meetings, and high profile corporate special events.
Olivia has worked with several national nonprofit organizations as well, including the American Diabetes Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Dental Association.
Olivia received her BS in economics from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.

RACHEL PETERSON KIM, MD
Medical Director
Rachel received her medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at the University of Health Sciences and is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
During her fellowship in rheumatology at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, she was involved in several clinical research trials studying novel therapies for rheumatoid arthritis.
Her work with patients as a staff physician at Kaiser Permanente and Scripps Clinic has included the musculoskeletal complications of diabetes.
She was a coauthor of the "Diabetes Can Affect Your Musculoskeletal System" chapter in the third edition of the book Taking Control of Your Diabetes and has been published in such journals as Current Diabetes Reports and Clinical Diabetes.

ERIC SHEARIN
Communications Specialist
Eric has significant experience in communications in the areas of diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
As senior manager of corporate communications for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, he served as the primary public relations and corporate communications contact through the approval and launch of two first-in-class diabetes therapies.
He played an integral role in the development of a corporate branding project. Eric also held positions at Amylin in medical marketing, corporate development, and investor relations.
Prior to Amylin, Eric worked as special projects manager for a Washington, DC, nonprofit where he managed the organization's first annual meeting, a continuing medical education event attended by chief health officials from each US state and territory.

MARK SARNO
Senior Medical Writer
Mark has used his expertise in cardiovascular disease, rheumatology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, and oncology to design and analyze clinical trials in multiple fields.
Mark holds a BS in biochemistry and cell biology from the University of California, San Diego and began his career at the Research Institute of Scripps Clinic.
In various positions at Hybritech, he participated in a total of 11 product launches, during which time he was also awarded a US patent.
As consultant to Tomen America in New York, Mark provided guidance on the regulatory path for a diabetes monitoring test and coauthored a 510(k) submission approved by the FDA in 2003.
He has coauthored a number of journal articles and has presented on glycemia in patients with diabetes at the American Diabetes Association Annual Meeting.
